New York WIFT/Hamptons International Film Festival screening during the HAMPTONS INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL October 7-11, 2010, in East Hampton, New York.

Once again we invite your chapter members to participate in  "TO THE POINT -WOMEN TELLING STORIES THROUGH MEDIA," , celebrating its Seventh Annual New York Women in Film & Television/Hamptons International Film Festival screening during the HAMPTONS INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL October 7-11, 2010, in East Hampton, New York.
 
With the help of Women In Film and Television International, membership continues to grow as chapters are developed and formed around the world. Chapters are forming in Dubai, India, Hong Kong and Portland, Oregon with many other women from different countries worldwide requesting information on how to form a chapter.
 
 "TO THE POINT" is a rare, unique and timely platform for WIFT member filmmakers worldwide to show their multi-faceted talents in the area of shorts.  The selected shorts comprise the varied genres of fictional narratives, animations, documentaries and experimental films, television and videos. These exceptional works bring distinctive, original, unorthodox perspectives to challenging and uplifting experiences of women from all walks of life around the world.
 
"TO THE POINT" provides an exceptional opportunity to showcase the skills and filmmaking forte of women internationally. Previous submissions included countries of Australia, New Zealand, Europe and USA.  At the Hamptons Film Festival, members from the film and television communities and general audiences enthusiastically received the selected works and some were also included in the Women in Film and Television International Short Film Showcase Celebrating International Women's Day 2010, which gave even more universal exposure to the filmmakers.
 
We invite your members to participate in this series of collected filmmaking talent by visiting the New York Women in Film & Television website at:  www.nywift.org.  On the website your members will be directed to the LINK for the NYWIFT/HIFF APPLICATION.  Please remind your members that they must submit the paper application in DUPLICATE and they must submit TWO COPIES of their film (DVD/VHS in NTSC) with English subtitles if the film was not produced in English.
 
In addition we enclose the complete application form as a pdf and doc file with this email, so you can also post it on your own website.
 
Be sure to tell your members that there is no submission fee, that all films must be twenty minutes or less and must have been completed by January 1, 2008.
 
Films chosen for the NYWIFT/HIFF Series "TO THE POINT," are made by a panel of NYWIFT member filmmakers (first round of viewing) and by the Programming Department, Hamptons International Film Festival (second round of viewing). 

"TO THE POINT" is an excellent path to international visibility for extraordinary women filmmakers from around the world. In addition to submitting to "TO THE POINT", the submitted shorts will also be eligible for selection to next year's 2011 WIFTI Short Film Showcase Celebrating International Women's Day as well as SWAN DAY celebrations and screenings. 
 
Please send an email to all your members inviting them to submit their shorts and place a short paragraph on your website and/or newsletter this May.
 
Deadline for submissions is July 1st, 2010.
 
However, please note that entering TO THE POINT does not automatically enter you (the WIFT member) into The Hamptons International Film Festival Category.  If members want to be considered for the HIFF Festival, in addition to TO THE POINT, then WIFT members need to submit directly to HIFF Shorts Category at www.hamptonsfilmfest.org.
